People's plans for retirement are now made much
easier with a new website called www. silverpot.co.uk launched 6 April
2001.
Verity Bullough, Executive Director of the
Learning Skills Council, North London, officially opened the website.
She highlighted the fact that there is no age barrier to learning now.
Government assistance is |
available to most people interested in
increasing their knowledge and this can be provided from different
sources including the internet. She also expressed her pleasure that
Silverpot, which is targeted at the whole of the UK, originated in the
North London area. |

MPs Stephen Twigg and Sir Sydney Chapman also
attended the event and gave speeches wishing the site every success.
Despite representing different political parties, both have been very
enthusiastic and supportive during the formation of the project.
A short presentation on the content of the site
was warmly received by those in attendance who included representatives from the University
of the Third Age, |
