HEALTH – WHY BOTHER!

Good health is only one of several factors that contribute to the quality of life. Your level of health will not automatically change on retirement – there is no reason why it should: the way you have looked after, or perhaps neglected, yourself in your working like is likely to continue.

Any adjustments needed may be minor or they may have far-reaching consequences, but they will surely be worthwhile. At best, they could prolong your life, and they  will certainly improve its quality.

Heart Examination  It is an undisputed fact that fit people enjoy life more than their unhealthy friends – those who are constantly short of breath from smoking, slowed down by being overweight, stooped from bad posture etc.
Most of us do not take kindly to being told what or what not to do. Those of us in our fifties or above can say, with every justification, that we have survived over half a century so far and do not need to be told how to live the other half! Quite right – but old and bad habits die hard and often it is difficult to see what improvements could be made when we have followed set patterns for so long.
