DR.TERRY OUR RESIDENT MEDICAL ADVISER
“Terry”
was born and brought up in Surrey. Articled at 16 to a firm of Chartered
Accountants his qualification was delayed by five years due to army
service, mainly in India, and a spell at Cambridge University.
He married Molly,
another accountant and became a medical student at Barts. Spent 13 years
as a GP in a large NHS practice before becoming interested in
Occupational Medicine and the health of people at work.
His
particular medical interests have included hearing difficulties, stress
at work and introducing new technology into offices. |
Following
his retirement he has been a regular speaker at pre-retirement courses
and takes an interest in the health aspects of stress and redundancy. He
is the author of a book on ‘Good Health” in the Letts Retirement
Series.
He and Molly have
three children; one a regular army doctor; one a dentist and the other a
solicitor. Although he lives in Fulham halfway between Chelsea and
Fulham football grounds he has never been to a match at either!
Has a passionate
interest in London, and is a City Freeman and Liveryman and active
member of the London Appreciation Society, which arranges about three
visits each week to places that are not usually open to the public. |
|
Terry
is a keen non-competitive exerciser and frequently cycles around London
for pleasure and to save time. Swims badly about three times a week but
still enjoys it. Walks up all the stairs and escalators he comes across
– altogether he lives an active life.
Other intermittent
interests are opera, chess and old silver. He gets infuriated regularly
by his personal computer but forgives it every time, as it certainly
seems to keep the brain active.
He says overall he
would value a day with more than 24 hours in it !!!
